The countries in Southeast Asia continue to monitor the progression of scarlet fever outbreak that in the last few days the cases of scarlet fever in Hong Kong were increase.
The number of cases reached over 600 people with two deaths in children ages 7 and 12 years. (read about it here)
Currently the number of cases continues to grow and in recent days has been noted that there are about 40 additional new cases. From the existing data, as many as 93% of cases occured in children under the age of 10 years.
Scarlet fever disease is also often referred to as scarlatina disease is a disease caused by group A Streptococcus bacteria and can be severe due to the release of toxins. The disease is especially common in children.
